Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up living in "a the white bubble." The actress also discusses how this experience has affected the parenting style of her adopted children who are multi-racial. The actress from "Firefly Lane" spoke to a reporter that it did not matter how dark her skin color was for her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted sister she realized the difference between how others were treated by her. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd received the same treatment while walking around with our parents and in a different manner when she was out alone without them. She answered, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl said to her parents: "That was when I was aware of how foolish I had made me feel." The actor said she became angry but felt she needed to channel that energy to help the adopted children she has. Heigl and her long-time husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 years old in 2009. followed by Adalaide who was 8 years older and was Black in 2012.
