Zazie Beetz, born 1991, was born in Berlin. Her father, a German cabinetmaker who moved into the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is her mother a South African American social worker. In 2010, the actor and dancer was finally offered her breakthrough performance when she was cast in the role of Rocky Blue in the show 'Shake It Up', alongside co-star Bella Thorne. Zendaya was eleven years old when, during a road trip with her family when she stumbled upon a meat-processing plant. PEOPLE says that Zendaya told, "I found it horrifying to see the entire animals that were being crammed in there, waiting for their time to die." "I couldn't have believed that was how I had taken my meat!" Since then, she has been on a vegetarian diet.
