She was born March 29th 1985, in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parents Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is Mexican roots, yet is American in nationality. The desire to be a sportsperson started as a young kid. Gerina began playing golf when she was 15. Gerina graduated from high school education at Goddard High School. When she was in high school, she took home at the New Mexico state golf tournament. Also, she was a volleyball player who competed at the state level. She was a student at in the University of Texas in 2003. She was the only winner of all events she took part in throughout her final years. Through her college years she won her Conference USA Player of The Year Award as well as the UTEP Female Sports Athletics Award.
